Blog Resurrection!!!

It has been over a year since I've posted on here, but don't worry it is back. Over the past year I've been working and with the death of online poker I simply faded away from this blog. I spent a month in Vegas for WSOP, went to Barcelona for EPT the past year,but I won't bore you with all the details but instead state the exciting news.....I will be moving to Vegas this weekend to pursue poker. In all of this mess, I will also be continuing my job on a part time basis. I think this will be good because I will have a good poker/life balance. Poker can take over sometimes and having this balance will keep me focused and grounded.

Packing up my apartment really blows, but good thing my parents came up to help me. I definitely would have screwed something if it was not for them. My apartment is all boxed up and the movers come tomorrow to drive everything across the country. My plan is to enjoy DC as much as I can for the next couple of days and hopefully not postpone too many flights before making it to Vegas.

My buddy/fellow shipshaper will be living with me at Panorama and the location could not be better. Being feet away from Aria will make the commute to the tables easy and convenient. After getting the keys to the place I will take some pics and post them on here. So here is the start.....again. GG. Shipshape.

I suck at blogging...part dos

As promised I am making a timely post. I've played a decent amount of hands this month and the EV line has come even today as I write this. I probably won't be playing anymore this week since I am leaving for Austin tomorrow morning. It will give me a chance to get away from this freezing weather and back into the great state of Texas. I am currently having one of my best months of this year and it is only December 13th. Hopefully I can continue this trend for the rest of the month and break the 10k barrier. With rakeback and bonuses I should be able to do this since I am going back to Houston on the 20th. I will have time to play but it always seems like I get really lazy when I go home.

New Year's plans are still a little iffy, but there are a bunch of ideas out there. Looks like we will be in Houston and it should be lots of fun with the Shipshape crew. I had a bunch of stories I wanted to write about but I can't remember anything right now. I really need to get a notepad so I can jot these things down. O well, it will eventually come to me. Time for the Texans game, we need this win to keep out slim hopes alive in an overall very disappointing season. The Texans are a big tease every season. So much promise but just utter failure year after year. Game time. GG. Shipshape.

I suck at blogging...part uno

Ya, it has been a while since I've blogged. Work has been really busy with traveling and trips with friends. Rest assured, I hope to be more up to date this month. I am going to do this segment in 2 parts cause I am lazy and want to get a post in.

Over the past month I've been to Vegas, Austin and Houston. All 3 were a blast even though I was in Austin for work. These 12 hr days at work have been killer and I really didn't have much motivation to play that much in November. Plus, Thanksgiving break there was no time at all because I wanted to hang out with all my friends. One super positive note is that I finally bought a watch when I was in Vegas and I will post a pic of it in part dos.

November was good poker wise even though I only played 30k hands. I actually bumhunted at higher stakes every once in a while and it was quite a ride. I needed a break from rush poker and played a good amount of heads up. You can see from the swings of the graph that I was jumping around in stakes. Playing 25/50cap all the way down to 200nl. I'll take a +5k month in less than 30k hands any time so I am pleased. I'm just happy that I finally got to writing in this thing and I will put in part dos with December happenings this weekend. GG. Good Month, Blah!

Overall, it was a really good month for poker. Cleared the nasty 2k bonus and had some good profits and rakeback. I decided to take some shots today at 5/10 and ran like poo. It's ok though because shot taking is fun and I've been on the other side where I've ran good doing it. Variance is a bitch but that's what we get when we decide to play poker. My bird doo doo run bad is the obvious straight down line there at the end. I am most likely not going to play online this month since I am leaving for Vegas in about 5 hours. First couple of days are for work then I am going to spend Halloween weekend there with a bunch of friends. Should be a great time and I think we decided to all go as Chilean miners. I didn't have time to buy the costume so hopefully my buddy can pick it up and bring it with him at the end of the week.

I got a good amount of volume in this month but next month is crunch time at work for a big project I am working on so I am going to have to put in some long hours to get that finished up. Plus there is Thanksgiving break and I am going to be back in Houston for 10 days so that should be fun. Party it up with Shipshape. I really need a little break because I feel burned out from playing so much this month. 80k hands takes a toll and I don't know how some people put it 200k hands in a month. I guess if you don't have a full time job its not too hard, but sitting in front of the computer that long everyday just doesn't sound like something I could do all year. I feel like I've forced myself to play sometimes which is never good because instead of making good decisions you become a robot just clicking a mouse. O well, still good results and I am proud of it. Wish me some run good in the live games and the amazing craps rolls we are going to have. On a side note, me and a shipshape member had the greatest craps roll of our short career where some girl rolled for an hour and a half. Just think about it, and now think of the results. Ups. GG. Swings and more Swings

Past couple of weeks have been really fun. I went to the TX/OU game in Dallas and even though Texas lost I still had a blast. The funniest moment had to be watching Tennessee put 3294083 players on the field. Even though it was sad, you just gotta laugh a little.

I've been grinding hard ever since coming back from the trip and I've actually put myself into the top 25 for the rake race this month. If I can keep that up I will get a nice bonus at the end of the month. I've dabbled in 100nl, 200nl, 400nl Rush this month along with a session at 600NL HU and a small sesh at 2000Cap. Here's the graph and you can see the nonsense I am talking about.
It's been a roller coaster but it is nice to be back in the positive. Here is my gross hand of the first 8 days of the month. Super deep it was just gross all the way. Where's the boat on the river!!!

Now that I got this stupid black card from FTP I've been activating the bonuses but they take forever to clear. I wish it was instant cash like Stars but FTP always screws people in any way possible. The idea of double and triple points has driven me to play more and I am getting huge volume in.

This month has a Vegas trip planned. I am going for sure at the end of the month for work and will just stay the weekend to hang out with friends and play some cards. There might be a trip before that with some Tennessee buds so we can break in a Vegas Virgin. I'm kind of sick, but I think I'll play a bit more then pass out while playing Call of Duty. GG. Football Nasty

Last weekend I decided to go back to Tennessee to witness the Vols play the Gators. Bought some tickets and only stayed for 1 quarter because the blistering heat was melting me in the bleachers. I was disapointed because one of the main reasons I went was to enjoy the game atmosphere at the stadium but GG to that idea. Other than the game, the weekend was awesome. Got to see all my friends and it was complete obliteration. Monetary wise, it was not very good, but worth every penny. I will probably go back for the Alabama game because you don't always get the opportunity to see the #1 ranked team play.

On another note, the damn Longhorns lost today and I have never seen a more pathetic performance. I was embarrassed and actually took my jersey off and changed the channel. I don't even want to get started on them so I will stop there.

Poker has been great this month. Been playing FR Rush 100NL and 200NL and the results have been very encouraging. The graph is here and the heater at the end has been very refreshing. There was one little 5/10 tilt session but ended up getting it back. I don't know why I did it, but it was a lot of fun (ups). I am going to try and play some more tourneys, I've final tabled a couple small ones but got 7th in all of them so there were no big scores. I am just going to keep grinding these stakes because I am enjoying it and I don't have to put in many hours with Rush.

Next week I am going to Austin for work and coincidentally the Red River Shootout is next weekend. Looks like I will be going up to Dallas and praying for a Longhorn victory. It could be a potential Shipshape trip if people can make it up, but either way it will be lots of fun. I wish I had more stories but I feel like a boring person these days. Who knows, maybe next week there will be a months worth of stories for me to share. GG. Shipshape. I'll Pay You....You don't want me to get nasty!

NOLA trip

I promised I would keep writing so here I go. Well the entire shipshape crew went to New Orleans this past weekend and words can't describe what went on there. The group dynamic plus a casino and Bourbon St. just equaled absolute madness. Overall it was definitely one of the best trips I've been on and I was happy I got to fly home and not drive hungover like everyone else.

Poker wise, the Mini Ftops are upon us and I don't really think I will be playing many. Instead I staked some players in the series and hopefully we can all get some run good and bink multiple wins. I've been playing a decent amount of Rush this month and after starting a good amount in the hole I've been on a nice heater since then. You can see the nasty graph and I'm glad its going well since last month wasn't as profitable as I had hoped.

I'm going to Vegas this weekend with my parents and I guess I'll be taking them around to show them a good time. Hopefully I will grow a pair and finally buy that new watch I want, but I will probably chicken out and just keep looking at it. For the mean time, shipshape and get nasty.
